My Teaching Philosophy
Welcome to the teaching section of my website! I hope you find this information useful, and encourage you to contact me with any questions or requests for additional information you may have.
I have been teaching piano students for over ten years. Teaching for me involves sharing my passion for music with my students and passing along a rich tradition of Russian pianism. Playing piano is an inspiring, enriching, and rewarding experience that helps you express your emotions, feelings, dreams, and fantasies at any age. I encourage my students to be self-critical, yet without losing sight of higher aspirations.
Each one of my students is different and I never apply a "one size fits all" approach in teaching. I diagnose my students' strengths and weaknesses, and I find diverse strategies that reinforce strengths and assist in overcoming weaknesses. My ultimate goal is to inspire and to motivate my students so that they are willing to practice, eager to improve and to perfect their playing.
